The earthquake off the coast of Haiti that struck on 12 January has caused widespread descruction. UnitingWorld is urging immediate and practical support for relief efforts through both Act for Peace, the relief and development arm of the  National Council of Churches in Australia, and the Anglican Board of Mission. Pacific Conference of Churches Calls for Immediate Action

The Pacific Conference of Churches has issued a statement demanding immediate action from developed countries on climate change . Associate Director, Church Solidarity (Pacific), Mr Bruce Mullan has heard from UnitingWorld’s partner Church in Solomon Islands, following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck yesterday.  The quake’s aftershock has affected the Western Province, located about 88km south east of Gizo.
