The Pacific Conference of Churches has issued a statement demanding immediate action from developed countries on climate change .
The Council’s General Secretary, Fe’iloakitau Kaho Tevi said that countries in the Pacific can no longer remain on the sidelines and be mere observers.
“We only have one planet and if we do not act today, we will face unfathomable consequences in the future,” he said.
