This May and June, UnitingWorld Relief and Development is providing an opportunity for donations to make an even bigger, life-changing difference.
Not only are donations to UnitingWorld’s Matching Gift Fund tax-deductible, they will be coupled with funding from the Australian Government under the AusAID-NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP). The combined funds will assist UnitingWorld’s partners working in education, livelihood support and peacebuilding.
“This is a great opportunity to match the life-giving commitment of our partners overseas,” says UnitingWorld National Director Rev Dr Kerry Enright. “At the same time supporters will receive a tax deduction for this financial year and their gifts will work with a contribution from AusAID to make an even greater positive difference for people’s lives.”
This year the Matching Gift Fund will support the critical contribution of women in development.
“Our church partners in North India, West Timor and Ambon, Indonesia are inspired by seeing the way women act as vitally effective agents of change,” says Dr Enright. “Women are leading the way in their communities. They’re committed to peace, education and supporting their families.”
Tax-deductible donations made to the Matching Gift Fund this year will support:
- education programs in North India that are ensuring girls in marginalised Dalit communities receive the education they deserve
- peacebuilding initiatives in Ambon where women are building bridges for peace
- micro-finance initiatives in West Timor that supply small loans enabling women to build businesses and support their families
Donate by the end of the financial year to make your gift go further towards peace, education and overcoming poverty.
