Millennium Development Goals

UnitingWorld is committed to working towards the Millennium Development Goals.

editIn 2000, world leaders came together and pledged to work together to eradicate poverty, hunger and disease. Eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were formulated to be reached by 2015.

The MDGs are specific targets against which the reduction in extreme poverty can be measured. The eight goals are broken down into 21 quantifiable targets and 60 indicators.

As part of this global campaign, we are continuing to increase our Relief and Development program focus on contributing to the achievement of the MDGs.

Read more below about the MDGs, and our development projects in Africa, Asia and the Pacific that work towards achieving these goals.
