Protestant Christian Church in Bali

The Protestant Christian Church in Bali is a member of the Christian Conference of Asia (CAA) and is making Christ known to people through its various sectors and institutions. The Spiritual Formation Department, the Diaconia Department and the Work of the Mission Department work to achieve spiritual growth and provide people with an education and the opportunity to become economically independent. The Protestant Christian Church in Bali also aims to introduce foreign visitors to their ministry.

Since the 1950s the church has preached the gospel through the context of the Balinese culture such as architecture, symbols, music and teaching. The Dhyana Pura Institutions which also look after the Dhyana Pura Hotel and Dhyana Pura College are helping people live responsibly on the tourist island.

The Protestant Christian Church in Bali was built on the ‘Hill of Prayer’, which is one of the most unique faith complexes in the world. The Indonesia Government donated this land to the church to promote to foreigners the peace between Indonesia’s official religions. Indonesian services were begun in this newly built church in November 1998. Since 1999, the church has been served by a series of pastors from various denominations, called ‘Volunteers in Ministry’.

The Protestant Christian Church in Bali has a growing membership of 12,000 people.
