May 2010
In this edition:
- How to transform $1 into as much as $6 - As the end of the tax year approaches, now is the smartest time to make a tax deductible donation to the international work of the Relief and Development Unit of UnitingWorld.
- Loans for freedom: West Timor - West Timor is a small Christian majority state located in the Indonesian province of Nusa Tenggara Timur, or NTT. Economically, NTT is the poorest province in Indonesia.
- Onwards in Ministry: East Timor - I must confess to being astounded, perhaps jealous, at the number of conferences that many Christians in Australia are able to attend in order to be equipped to lead effectively. This is not the privilege of many leaders who serve within our overseas partner churches. By Rob Lutton, Community Relationship Manager
- Keeping the Peace in Papua New Guinea - The town of Tari is located approximately 1800 metres above sea level in PNG’s Southern Highlands province. The locals live traditional lifestyles and have a colourful and vibrant local culture.
- Stories from the Field: Ruth Sellick - This member of Western Link Uniting Church in Adelaide, is a UnitingWorld Experience volunteer who is working tirelessly to address some of the problems that women in PNG face.
