Cherice Anquetil completed her HSC in 2009 and was excited to participate in the GAP year program assisting Tongan students with English at Mo’unga ‘Olive College. Cherice was actively involved with Sunday school and youth group at her local church in Bonny Hills. 

There is a high unemployment rate in Tonga and education is vital for student’s employment oppotunities. In addition, a good grasp of the English language can help students both during and after their schooling. Although Tongan is the native language, high school exams are conducted in English. Cherice is being supported by the Free Wesleyan Churh of Tonga to teach English classes, as well supporting individual students as a tutor.
