Peacemaking

Our Peacemaking programs are run through Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP) a program established by Joy Balazo. These programs strive to build a culture of peace and justice in communities in need of conflict resolution.

YAP has centres in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Burma, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Each centre is supported by local staff who are passionate about growing peace in their communities, and are trained to run effective peace building workshops.

YAP empowers people to create peace, resolve conflict and build friendships across barriers of tension and violence, paving the way for much needed development.

Donations of $2 and over to Peacemaking programs are tax deductible and are managed by the Relief and Development unit.

People for Peace appeal

tariThe People for Peace Appeal seeks to support the many Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP) working tirelessly to restore peace and facilitate reconciliation both within and between their local communities.

The Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP) program brings together fractured communities, facilitating reconciliation at a grassroots level both within and between communities through Asia and the Pacific.

The programs operate through local coordinators and volunteers who work to create harmony within communities, allowing development work to be more effective and beneficial for the entire community.
