UnitingWorld has launched its ’Turn $1 into $4′ appeal. This appeal works to supply water to those who need it most in communities in Sudan, Papua New Guinea and India. Clean water remains an essential component in the fight to reduce poverty. Yet throughout the world more than a billion people live without access to clean water. Under the Australian Government’s AddValue Gifts Plan every dollar you donate can be turned into up to four dollars.

East Timor Give the Gift of Life

East Timor (or Timor Leste) is one of Australia’s nearest neighbours but the day to day realities of its people could not be more distant from our own.  For many, everyday is a battle for survival as the country struggles to rebuild itself in the wake of the war for independence. The Relief and Development program of UnitingWorld – supports a number of health initiatives including two health clinics, a village health program and a full time nurse to implement preventative health care.
