China is rapidly aging. Currently, 200 million people are over 60 years old, a figure that will double in the next 20 years. Combined with rapid urbanisation and the impact of the one-child policy, there is a growing social challenge in caring for the elderly.
The Chinese Church is stepping into to meet this social need. We are connecting the deep expertise in UnitingCare Australian with the emerging social service leaders in the Chinese Church to enable the transfer of knowledge and skills and the development of an authentic Chinese theology of community service.
